Disabled Hedgehogs Find Safe Haven
Disabled hedgehogs found on North Yorkshire’s roads have been given a safe haven by BID members Yorkshire Fireplaces.
Sara Livesley has set up a hedgehog retirement home at the back of her High Street premises and has welcomed her first two residents.
Peter, who is blind, and Titch, who has a club foot, will never be well enough to be released back into the wild but are being well looked after in their walled garden. Sara is assisting Ripon-based HAPPY – Hedgehog Appreciation Prickly Pals Yorkshire, who specialise in rescue and rehab for what is fast becoming an endangered species.
