In a Pickle with Your Tech? Let the O2 Guru help
The O2 store in Northallerton is home to O2 Guru Dean Godwin, tech troubleshooter on hand to offer expert advice to everyone for free, regardless of their network.
Mobile technology can often seem like a maze and the Guru is there to help people navigate through it by providing jargon-free advice and solving problems.
Dean runs a weekly tech service on Friday mornings in the local library which can be booked directly with the venue. He is also available to book for complimentary 30-minute appointments in store, where he helps set up phones and tablets, install apps and answer questions on social media, accessibility and online safety.
Dean plays a significant role in O2 and the NSPCC’s campaign, Let’s Keep Kids Safe Online, offering parents advice on security and privacy settings on their devices, and regularly runs online safety workshops, the most recent for parents from local organisation POSCH.
Aware that parents may not always feel confident that their kids are safe when browsing the internet, the campaign was set up in 2015 to educate parents on the dangers of internet grooming, cyberbullying and other risks on the web ensuring that they can spot the tell-tale signs. Free NSPCC information booklets and helpline leaflets are available in store.
Anyone wanting to see Dean should book a free 30 minute Guru appointment either instore, over the phone or via the O2 website. For more information or to speak to Dean, call the store on 01609 774369.
