Victory for BID on Parking

Great news! The BID is celebrating victory in its hard-fought campaign to extend free parking on Northallerton High Street.

Very shortly it will be possible to park FREE FOR ONE HOUR – double the existing limit – in a huge boost for our businesses.

We welcome the decision of North Yorkshire County Council’s Executive to extend free parking in a trial period up to December 31. Now the challenge is to make this concession permanent.

Our traders are sure to appreciate the extra help as they get back on their feet and we will be fighting hard to put Northallerton on an even footing with neighbouring towns such as Bedale, Thirsk, Stokesley, Easingwold, Darlington and Yarm, who already have much more generous free parking.

We are awaiting info from NYCC on when the one-hour free parking will be introduced. We’ll keep you informed.
